Two senior fashion design students, Esme "Ash" Alam & Aisha Quarless, were recently awarded the Black Retail Action Group (BRAG) Scholarship.
BRAG was founded in 1970 to create opportunities and jobs for black individuals working in fashion and retail. BRAG Scholars was founded for students of color who have shown scholastic achievement, leadership development, and community engagement, with a passion for retail-related industries.
BRAG has a long history with HSFI, dating back to their work with Mr. J.J. Thomas, a long time dedicated member of our Advisory Board. Mr. Thomas was eternally devoted to HSFI and worked relentlessly to provide industry opportunities for our students.
Congratulations to our two winners!
