The Class of 2026 November attendance All Star is Aniyah Davis. We took some time to interview them.
Q: What’s your major and why did you choose it?
· Art
· I chose art because I wanted the opportunity to learn more about art and to strengthen my skills.
Q: Where are you commuting from and how do you get to school on time?
· I am commuting from the Lower East Side of Manhattan.
· I get to school on time by taking the F train to 23rd and I walk to school from 6th avenue.
Q: Why is coming to school important to you?
· It is important to come to school to get my education and to learn new things every day.
Q: How can having great attendance help prepare students for the real world?
· Having great attendance in school prepare students for when they graduate and start working. It also helps you with time management for the future.
Q: What are some of the challenges you've had to overcome in attaining great attendance?
· Some of the challenges are waking up earlier and going to bed earlier.
Q: Is there anyone (family member/loved one/public figure) you look up to who gives you the motivation to come to class on time?
· My mom motivates me to come to school on time. She is often on the phone with me when I am en route to school.
· And Ms. G talks to me.
Q: What advice would you give to someone struggling with getting to school on time every day?
· I would have students to pace themselves and give themselves time in the morning and wake up early. It is really not that hard.
