At HSFI we offer 9 College Board Advanced Placement (AP) courses, giving students the opportunity to obtain college credits starting in the 10th grade! Here are our AP Biology students modeling different enzyme reactions and how inhibitors can influence their activity in the human body.

Free Arts @freeartsnyc hosted one-on-one portfolio reviews to help our senior Art and Design majors prepare for their upcoming art university applications.

NSLC @nslcleaders hosted info sessions about their pre-college summer programs, which include over 30 programs at universities throughout the country for grades 9-12. Applications are open now, and scholarships are open in January.

In October 2024, the eleventh-grade digital media students at the High School of Fashion Industries (HSFI) crafted a collection of imaginative, innovative designs. These young artists immersed themselves in the district's textures, colors, and rhythms through site visits, museum tours, and observations. Each design captures a personal interpretation of the District’s grit, elegance, and avant-garde spirit, as seen through the eyes of the next generation of designers. The designs are on display along the Meatpacking District’s Ninth Avenue Plazas through December 2024.

Our Science Elective students created posters and video Public Service Announcements (PSAs) on Air Quality. Students included information about where to find local, current Air Quality using the Purple Air app, along with steps we can take to improve our air quality. The top 5 student presenters will be announced on Monday, December 2nd! Last Week HSFI Students attended the Time 2000 Math Conference at Queens College. Students participated in various workshops . Two HSFI math teachers, Ms. LaTanza and Ms. Dye also served as presenters sharing the work of their Geometric Design course!

This week students had the amazing opportunity to participate in hands-on activities at Finishing Trades Institute of New York's Apprenticeship Week, learning about: -Structural and Steel Bridge painting -Glaziers -Metal Polishers -Painter -Drywall Taper
