Scholarships can be work! Make sure you stay organized with what each require and deadlines.
Don't discount small amount scholarships, any money is good!
Have a resume prepared to attach to an application.
Use your prewritten explanations of activities and or work experience from your resume or SCOIR to add to scholarships and applications.
You shouldn't have to pay to apply to scholarships or websites.
Undocumented Students
For undocumented students specifically, there are many resource guides available to guide you in the direction of scholarships that do not take status into consideration (or do not require U.S. Citizenship).
Undocumented Students are also eligible to complete the Senator Jose Peralta New York State DREAM Act as a part of New York State aid only for SUNY and CUNY schools. This application does not open until the Spring Term for students. For more information the link is HERE.

ISACA Scholarship

The ISACA Foundation provides academic scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students focused on digital trust, pursuing studies in the fields of IT audit, risk, security, assurance and cyber. We serve a community of students who have historically been underrepresented in tech.
Eligibility Criteria: Must be a graduating high school senior or current college student and planning on majoring in the field of IT

Women in Trades Scholarship
DEADLINE: June 12, 2024
TransAlta is committed to investing in our communities through meaningful contributions and enhancing the quality of life where our employees work and live. With this in mind, we are introducing TransAlta’s Women in Trades Scholarship, valued at up to $2,500 for eligible students entering in post-secondary trade programs or apprenticeships. The program aims to assist women in obtaining an education in trades by showcasing and rewarding successful female role models.
Eligibility criteria: HS student, US Citizen or permanent resident, enrolled in post-secondary trades program, identify as a woman.
Healthcare Workers for Our Future
DEADLINE: June 24, 2024
The “Healthcare Workers for Our Future” Scholarship provides a two-year scholarship to approximately 500 selected recipients covering tuition, room and board, and other related expenses in an approved program of study at any approved New York state public or private college or university.
Individuals seeking to pursue a degree in the following fields of study are eligible to apply: Registered Nurse, Respiratory Therapist, Clinical Laboratory Technologist, Radiologic Technology and Surgical Technology.
Eligibility criteria: HS Senior, legal resident NY, majoring in: Registered Nurse, Respiratory Therapist, Clinical Laboratory Technologist, Radiologic Technology and Surgical Technology.
Parle Endeavors ATLA Grant
DEADLINE: May 10, 2024
The Parle Endeavors ALTA Grant is available to young people who are (1) high school juniors or seniors attending a high school in New York State; (2) want to pursue a career in media, communications, journalism, business, or a closely related field; (3) have a business idea, start-up, related to those fields; (4) launched within the last year or planning to launch by June 2024.
There are four grant recipients, each at a value of $2,500, where you will also be paired with a mentor in your field.
Eligibility criteria: HS Junior or Senior, purse a career in media or another related field, business pitch or start up related to those fields.
Parle Endeavors Scholarship
DEADLINE: May 10, 2024
The Parle Endeavors Scholarship is available to young people who are pursuing a degree and a career in media, communications, journalism, business, or a closely related field.
There are four scholarship recipients, each at a value of $2,500, where you will also be paired with a mentor in your field.

Fill out the entry form where you’ll upload at least one pic of yourself in your Duck® promwear and fill in more details. STEM Scholarship
DEADLINE: June 24, 2024
We believe filling STEM jobs with talented young professionals is a critical factor in ensuring the long-term success of America’s economy. We are a member of the STEM coalition, and believe that society should improve the way that students learn science, mathematics, technology, and engineering. We believe that the business, education, and STEM communities must work together to achieve this goal.
Eligibility criteria: HS Senior, minimum of 3.0 GPA, maintain full-time enrollment status of 12 credit hours or more per college term, declared major in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematic field of study, passion for stem & strong moral character.
Exceptional Youth Scholarship
DEADLINE: May 17, 2024
The Foundation for Global Sports Development is committed to empowering youth through education. Our Exceptional Youth Scholarship recognizes youth who have demonstrated remarkable conduct through community service efforts, volunteerism, and mentorship activities, in addition to achieving outstanding academic performance.
A total of ten (10) high school seniors will each be awarded a one-time scholarship of $10,000 to be applied towards the cost of attendance including tuition, housing, books, and other on-campus related expenses at accredited, four-year colleges and universities in the United States.
Eligibility criteria: Senior in high school, US Citizen, planning on attending a 2 or 4 year school, GPA of 3.0 or above, Minimum of 100 hours of community service, & completed the FAFSA form.
NICHE Scholarships
DEADLINE: May 25, 2024
NICHE covers the cost of college expenses for four years without the requirement of an essay. Rewarding one student $10,000 to help pay for tuition, living expenses, books, and other educational expenses.
Eligibility Criteria: Must be a graduating high school senior or current college student and be a US citizen or hold a valid Visa/US passport.

Ocean Awareness Contest
DEADLINE: June 10, 2024
The 13th annual Ocean Awareness Contest is a platform for young people to learn about environmental issues through art-making and creative communication, explore their relationship to a changing world, and become advocates for positive change. Students ages 11-18 from around the world are invited to participate.
The 2024 Ocean Awareness Contest – Tell Your Climate Story – encourages you to become a climate witness and share your own unique climate story. We are asking you to creatively express your personal experiences, insights, or perceptions about our changing climate reality. Use this opportunity to learn about the climate crisis and how it impacts your family and community, and to examine your individual responses to our evolving world.
PROMPT: Think about climate issues and solutions and consider how they have affected you or your community. Find something that resonates deeply with your experiences – perhaps a climate impact you witnessed, an initiative that you’ve participated in, or a source of strength and inspiration when thinking about the climate crisis. Share your personal climate story through art, writing, performance, film, or multimedia. What is the story that you’d like to tell? Submissions can be in a range of fields including: Visual Art (Handcrafted), Visual Art (Digital), Creative Writing, Film, Interactive & Multimedia, Performing Arts (Music & Dance), or Poetry & Spoken Word.
